This part-time/weekend position is located in our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Fairfax, VA. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 6 am - 3 pm.
How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our "job." In general, the ASC RN is responsible for:
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
- Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
- Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
- Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
- Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
- Provide patient education
What You'll Bring: The skills and education we need are:
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- 2-3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
