InGenesis is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work with our client. In this role, you will identify, evaluate, and address disease prevention and health promotion issues for patients while administering quality care. Educate patient and/or family about preventive care, medical issues, diagnosis, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications. Essential Responsibilities: • Perform medical examination and evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education following clinical policies and procedures. • Educate patient and/or family about preventive care, medical issues, diagnosis, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications. • Request patient referrals for specialty services, labs, and tests as necessary. • Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. • Work in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral. • Work flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, as necessary. Qualifications: Required education, experience, training • Bachelor’s Degree. • Nurse Practitioner License. • Basic Life Support Certificate (CPR). Preferred education, experience, training • One year of directly related experience. • Community or Public Health experience • Electronic Health Records experience. Certifications/Licenses: • Current California registered nurse license. • Current certificate as a nurse practitioner. • Certified by one of the following American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or National Certificate for Obstetrics Gynecologic and Neo-natal Specialties (NCOGN), or National Certificate Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses (NCPNP) • State Office of Family Planning Certificate, if working in family planning program. • Current Basic Life Support Certificate (CPR). • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. • Access to reliable transportation. Physical Demands • Required to respond to any medical emergency, fast walk or jog may be necessary to provide assistance. • Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling. • Must have the ability to assist sick, injured or aging patients exiting the building during an emergency (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self). • Must be able to see, hear and smell with or without the use of aides if necessary (exceptions on a case-by-case basis). • Must easily alternate between kneeling and standing. (exceptions on a case-by-case basis). • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 30 pounds. • Must be capable of standing on hard surfaces for long periods of time. • Frequently required to operate a computer and file and retrieve written documentation.
