What will you do?
Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking an ambitious and energetic Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team. This position is located on-site at our facility in Melbourne, Florida, with occasional overnight travel to our Fairfax, Virginia, headquarters; and various customer sites as required. Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description:
The selected candidate will report to the corporate Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and will be responsible for the information security posture for the company and will be responsible for the implementation of information systems at our Melbourne, FL, location. This position will be a key and valued member of our security team.
The ISSO will perform duties as defined within Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) directives, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), and relevant National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Weekly auditing of the information systems, certification and accreditation activities, continuous monitoring activities, and coordination and supporting secure systems operations and maintenance
- Assisting with the development and implementation of government-approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of networked and standalone classified computers and coordinated government agency approvals
- Providing guidance and support to system engineers and system administrators for securing information systems in accordance with DISA STIGs.RGs and industry best practices
- Performing compliance validation scans using DoD endorsed tools such as ACAS.essus, SCAP Compliance Checker, and STIG Viewer
- Helping to conduct self-inspections and maintaining compliance with the RMF, NISPOM, DAAPM, corporate directives, pertinent DoD Information Assurance IA/Cyber instructions and other government contractual security requirements
- Helping to develop an information system security education program and providing training to all users of information systems supporting classified programs
- Supporting and maintaining in-house computer workstations, desktops, and peripherals
- Coordinating the install and upgrade to operating systems and layered software packages
- Helping to define and communicate the security posture and culture of the organization
Basic Requirements
- US citizenship, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, due to contract requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent certification
- Minimum 3 years' experience as ISSO for classified network/systems with knowledge of supporting information assurance activities
Preferred Qualifications
- TS/SCI clearance
- ISSO Required Training as outlined in the DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM): CS102.16, CS103.16, CS104.16, CS105.16, CS106.16, CS107.16, CS200.16
- 5 years previous experience as an ISSO for classified networks/systems with knowledge of supporting information assurance activities, including risk management framework and assessment and authorization (formerly certification and accreditation)
- Experience with the application and testing of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) on Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience preparing System Security Plans and POA&Ms
