Description Castle Rock Medical Center is looking for an as-needed RN (will also consider an LPN) to join the team. Summary of Job: Works in close harmony with physicians, PAs, receptionists, laboratory and x-ray technicians. Carries out physicians' orders while exhibiting initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific physicians' orders. Must be able to anticipate physicians' needs and maintain a steady and timely flow of patients, assuring that those presenting with emergent problems are seen first.
Essential Job Functions: - Performs general nursing and clerical duties which include:
- Ushers' patient to proper exam room.
- Takes and records patient history in electronic health record.
- Assesses and records vital signs, height, and weight in electronic health record.
- Observes, records and reports information, signs, and symptoms pertinent to patient's condition and patient care.
- Maintains accurate record of all injections, and other medications i.e., oral, and topical administered and distributed.
- Prepares patient for exam and procedures as ordered by physician.
- Performs/assists in procedures with physician as ordered.
- Assists with exam as directed by physician.
- Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for necessary procedures.
- Maintains adequate stock in exam/treatment rooms.
- Prepares and cleans exam rooms between patients.
- Always maintains sanitary conditions in the department.
- Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment used.
- Maintains accurate, timely and complete documentation of patient files.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Calls back normal lab results to patient.
- Calls in prescriptions to pharmacy as delegated by provider.
- Set up referrals to other agencies.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and has strong knowledge of HIPAA.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
- Fills out necessary requisitions for referrals to other departments.
- Assists in other departments as may be appropriate.
Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with physicians and District employees is essential.
- Certification/Education Requirements:
- RN: Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. An associate degree with acceptable experience in either ambulatory care or tertiary care setting may be substituted. A valid nursing license is required.
- LPN: Completion of a formal education program for licensed practical nurses. A valid LPN license is required.
