Respiratory Therapist MLR Healthcare is recruiting a
full-time, permanent Respiratory Therapist to join a committed team at a top-tier acute-care hospital in Texas. This role involves delivering specialized respiratory therapy services by following established protocols to support patients' respiratory health and overall well-being.
Annual Salary: $55,875 - $94,598
Primary Responsibilities: - Team Collaboration: Partner with doctors and healthcare staff to assess patients' respiratory conditions and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Diagnostic Assessments: Conduct evaluations to understand and address patients' respiratory needs.
- Shift Schedule: Night shifts, including rotating weekends, with three 12-hour shifts each week.
- Environmental Evaluations: Assess patients' living or work environments and provide suggestions to improve their respiratory health and self-sufficiency.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical systems.
- Safety Standards: Uphold a secure workplace by following OSHA and NIOSH standards.
Qualifications: - License: Must hold a current Texas Respiratory Care license.
- Certification Requirements: Keep active certification with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as part of the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
- Credentialing: New graduates must earn CRT credentials and aim for RRT certification within a year. If RRT certification is not obtained, the therapist will take on a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until certification is completed.
- BLS Certification: Required before starting patient care duties.
- ACLS Certification: Obtain within six months of starting.
- ENPC or PALS Certification: Required within one year of hire.
- NRP Certification: Complete within the first year of employment.
