Certifications:
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintain current
Must-Have:
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually
Job Description:
- Deliver safe patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry.
- Be responsible and accountable for the care provided to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Communicate with physicians regarding changes in the patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
- Be knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and social workers.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
