Job Description
The primary purpose of the Dietetic Technician position is to assist the facility in consultation, guidance, planning, organizing, developing, and support to the health care facility in the area of clinical nutrition in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis. Responsibilities: Participates in the coordination of a system in which to identify residents at high nutrition risk per facility policy and refers high nutrition risk residents to the supervising dietitian when appropriate. Coordinate nutritional care with an interdisciplinary approach. Provide nutritional recommendations utilizing current nutritional principles with appropriate follow-up. Submit accident/incident reports according to the facility's policies and procedures. Assist in developing a plan of correction for dietary service deficiencies noted during survey inspection. Assist in facility-specific Quality Assurance Program Improvement (QAPI) programs as directed. Assists with facility dining programs and processes. Requirements: The completion of a dietetic technician program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and completed at least a two-year associate's degree OR The completion of coursework in an ACEND-accredited didactic program or coordinated program in dietetics and has completed at least a bachelor's degree. Preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience in dietetics with long-term care facility background.
