Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Pediatric Operating Room (OR)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience
License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
Job Description:
- Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs.
- Attend educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Use relevant patient education materials and assess readiness to learn.
- Evaluate care by identifying expected patient outcomes and revising care plans with guidance.
- Engage in discussions with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care and promote continuity.
- Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex needs including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required.
- Utilize nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivering care.
- Organize and prioritize patient care according to needs.
- Consult resources for complex care issues and discharge planning.
- Develop professional growth goals and actively work towards them.
- Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Effectively use communication systems and promote cost-effective care.
- Provide feedback to co-workers and be aware of public policy and healthcare guidelines.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Assess patient needs and priorities; synthesize assessment data for communication.
- Develop relationships with families to support patient advocacy.
- Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans.
- Address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning.
- Stay informed on research applicable to practice and share insights with the team.
