JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of an IMCU Nurse is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of the intensive medical care unit. They oversee and direct nursing care by conducting thorough assessments, administering therapies, and managing high-intensity interventions. IMCU nurses are often responsible for treating patients with complex conditions, such as diabetes mellitus, electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, liver failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, blood disorders, cancer, sepsis, respiratory distress, or multi-system organ failure. To excel in their role, they must possess quick thinking abilities, follow instructions diligently, and fully leverage their training possible.

DUTIES
  • Providing care for patients with life-threatening medical conditions.
  • Evaluating vital signs and identifying patient needs.
  • Working with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to create and implement a plan of care.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient care and unit procedures.
  • Administering lifesaving treatments and procedures.
  • Wound care.
  • Monitoring life support equipment.
  • Identify patients who are at risk of complications due to nutritional status.
  • Treating wounds and providing advanced life support.
  • Keeping organized and following patient care plans exactly.
  • Administering medications and using medical equipment.
  • Communicating clearly and honestly with people from all backgrounds.
  • Keeping good records and maintaining patients' charts.
  • Using basic math skills adequate for dosage calculations.
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a hospital or post-acute care setting or to work alone as a home visitor.
  • Standing for long periods, lifting moderate weight, and working in environments where there may be infectious material.
  • And other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) certification
  • A valid nursing certificate, BSN, or MSN degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A valid unencumbered RN license for the State
  • Current vaccinations and health clearance certification.
  • Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Must have previous experience with starting IVs.
  • Must have at least 12 months of recent and relevant consecutive acute care experience in this specialty. (2 years preferred)
  • High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with patients during stressful experiences.
  • Strong organizational abilities and good communication skills
  • The appropriate license to work in their state/county.
  • Fluent in English.

HOURS OF OPERATION
  • Hours: Days and Nights available
COMPENSATION
  • 80,000-114,000 USD Annually
