We are currently seeking an experienced
Occupational Therapist in
Wayne or Hillsborough, NJ . The Occupational Therapist provides quality occupational therapy services for patients through functional evaluation and treatments of individuals utilizing a variety of techniques including: activities of daily living, fabrication and application of splints, sensory motor activities. This position requires travel between Hillsborough and Wayne New Jersey Programs.
Responsibilities - Screens and identifies individuals who may have problems in occupational performance.
- Evaluates the individual’s performance according to the Uniform Occupational Therapy Checklist.
- Develops individual occupational therapy program indicating short and long-term goals.
- Elects media, methods, environment, and personnel needs to accomplish goals.
- Determines frequency and duration of occupational therapy services.
- Formulates and implements the program according to the program plan.
- Documents therapy services provided, and the client’s occupational performance.
- Discharges clients when they have achieved the established goals and received maximum benefit from the services.
- Periodically and systematically reviews all aspects of the individual occupational therapy program for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborates with client, family, and other professional and community resources.
- May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
- Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed by the State Board of Examiners in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association and NBOTA.
- Ability to interact with patients, doctors and other personnel.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and use common sense.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with a person receiving supports.
- Ability to read and write English.
