Responsibilities for this Licensed Practical Nurse opportunity include, but are not limited to:nnAssist residents with daily bath, dressing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, preparation for medical tests and exams, ear and eye care and positioning in and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, etc.nnProvide nursing functions as directed by supervisor including daily perineal care, catheter care, turn residents in bed, all bathing, measure and record temperature, pulse and respiration, weigh and measure residents, perform restorative and rehabilitative procedure and observe and report the presence of skin breakdowns; review care plans daily, report changes in resident conditions to supervisor; and, record all necessary charting entries and report all accidents and incidents.nnPrepare residents for meals and snacks; identify food arrangement and assist in feeding residents as needed; record food and fluid intake; and perform after meal resident care as needed.nnMaintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect; know and comply with Resident’s Rights rules; and, promptly report all resident complaints, accidents and incidents to supervisor.nnUtilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patient/family as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.nnPerform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards as observed by the registered nurse.nnAssist in data collection on the Admission Data Record.nnContribute to the development of the patient/significant other plan of care based on the identified patient problems/needs.nnCarry out physician orders accurately, directly and indirectly.nnAssist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care administered relative to the patient/significant other identified problems/needs.nnDocument pertinent observation and intervention on appropriate record.nnPerform selected tasks related to patient care and the patient’s environment in a safe manner.nnAdminister medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes.nnPerform limited I.V. Therapy procedures on those patients receiving peripherally inserted Intravenous fluids, as delegated by and observed by the RN.nnMaintain and coordinate communication among patient/significant other, staff, and physician as evidenced within medical record, client, and health care team feedback.nnGive punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients.nnProvide patient/significant other health teaching as delegated by and observed by the RN.nnUse available written and AV materials specific to patient condition or disease.nnUtilize appropriate teaching methods such as one-on-one and group instruction, demonstration, or discussion.nnParticipate in staff development programs and meetings as requested.nnJOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE LPN LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE:nnGraduate of a nationally approved Nursing program is required.nnMaintain current BLS/CPR certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC)nnMust be currently licensed by the State Board of NursingnnCareerStaff is proud to be a six-time Great Place to Work™ and Diversity for Social Impact™ certified source of healthcare careers.
