POSITION SUMMARY

Snorklebox,  is looking for a dedicated and experienced Line Cook ($20/hour) to join our team at a new concept opening at From Here On Food Hall inside the historic Old Post Office Building!

Our ideal candidate is passionate about all things food and is interested in the challenge of working to open a new restaurant.  Successful team members are enthusiastic and willing to learn, have a strong work ethic, always put their best food forward, and work with urgency.

HOURS:

Monday-Friday 3 pm - 9 pm
 

Saturday & Sundays OFF!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up, execute, check , and maintain menu items on a station as directed promptly and before the beginning of each service
  • Communicate promptly and regularly about any product/ordering needs
  • Follow directions to manage all aspects of your station
  • Prep food products according to proper rotation, first in first out, checking for quality, preventing food waste
  • Perform correct cooking techniques to the highest standard
  • Maintain uniform cleanliness and proper attire at all times without exception
  • Daily duties may include but are not limited to unpacking and stocking kitchen deliveries and assigned cleaning duties.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Exemplary knife-skills
  • Excellent knowledge of cooking terms, techniques, and recipes
  • Understand how to use, operate, and care for all kitchen equipment
  • Must be positive, collaborative, and committed to healthy communication and quality work
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and recipes. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers or fellow employees

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must have 1+ years minimum cooking experience
  • Must have a valid Food Handler Certification

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must have the ability/stamina to work at least 30 hours a week.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in warm and cool environments.
  • Must be able to tolerate higher noise levels from music and customer traffic.
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
