Leading Consulting Engineering firm seeking talented Low-Voltage engineers / designers. Toronto. $80K - $120K

Our client is a Tier 1, industry-leading Consulting Engineering firm that has exclusively specialized in Electrical Engineering in their 50+ years of business. They are multiple-time recipients of the “Best Managed Company” award. In addition to their traditional electrical business, their specialty low-voltage groups are very well-rooted in the industry and work on high-profile projects within the commercial, institutional, healthcare, and mixed-use highrise building sectors. These divisions are currently seeking talented and ambitious designers / engineers to join their office in North York.

Your new role

As an ICT / Security / Audio-Visual Systems Engineer or Designer, you will co-ordinate system designs and work directly with external construction consultants and architects. You will perform engineering calculations, size and select equipment; complete conceptual designs; and prepare tender drawings pertaining to ICT / Security / Audio-Visual systems. As part of your project management responsibilities, you will attend coordination meetings, prepare detailed site surveys, review shop drawings as well as perform site inspections and construction administration duties for projects in the Toronto area. Depending on seniority, there will also be the opportunity to lead a team of engineers and designers, as well as participating in people management and business development.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate for this position will possess 3–10 years of design engineering experience relevant to ICT / Security / Audio-Visual systems in buildings, as well as a relevant post-secondary education. A (P.Eng), (E.I.T), (CTS), (CTS-D) or (PSP) designations would be considered assets for this role. This candidate will also require excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills, as well as an advanced understanding of electrical system analysis. They will also need technical familiarity with design methodologies, codes, and standards. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is also a required for this role.
