Your New Role
As an Estate Planning Law Clerk, you will play a crucial role in assisting with estate planning for a diverse range of clients, including private business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and beneficiaries with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include drafting and editing wills, managing the wills vault, attending client meetings, witnessing and executing documents, maintaining the wills tickler system, and other related duties. This is a full-time, in-office role based at the head office in Mississauga. Standard working hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibility required to meet business and client needs.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an estate planning law clerk.
- Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and file management.
- Familiarity with legal practice group software, such as ProLaw, is preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while taking instruction effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, high professionalism, and initiative.
- Accurate proofreading and editing skills.
- A Law Clerk Diploma is preferred.
- A demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client service.
