The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as a TeleProfessional administering nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of patients. The incumbent provides quality care to designated patients and takes on various responsibilities, such as participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, as well as cooperating with the members of the nursing and medical staff and other hospital departments.nnCORE JOB FUNCTIONSnnDemonstrates excellent customer-care skills and webside manners.nnProvides virtual clinical care within your nursing scope of practicennCompetent in remote patient monitoring and using critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to provide triage to symptomatic consumers in accordance with scope of practice Coordinate care between providers, patients, and third parties including but not limited to: patient triage, medication reconciliation and provide administrative assistance for providers and managersnnCollects patient assessment data and notifies appropriate nurse of actual or potential problems and needs on an ongoing basis.nnRecords patient information concisely, accurately, and completely.nnAssists with preparation of patient materials or correspondence that RNs, ARNPs, or MDs utilize to communicate with organizations within or outside the University.nnAssists in preoperative and postoperative health teaching for patients and families.nnShares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.nnParticipates in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas with team members.nnPerforms more-complex nursing activities as competence increases.nnCommunicates frequently with team leader regarding patient’s physical and mental conditions.nnAdheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.nnThis list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.nnCORE QUALIFICATIONSnnHigh school diploma or equivalent requirednnValid State of Florida LPN license requirednnNo experience requirednn#LI-GD1nnThe University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.nnUHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
