Human Resources Generalist InnApply now ( Job no: 534075nnWork type: Staff Full-TimennLocation: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)nnCategories: Human Resources, Veteran's Preference EligiblennDepartment: 60320000 - AG-FAM YOUTH / COMM SCInnClassification Title:nnHuman Resources Generalist InnJob Description:nnHR Program CoordinationnnCoordinates recruitment, benefits, training, and employee relations programs.nnDevelop and maintain liaison relationships with managers, department heads, and HR representatives.nnProvide guidance and assistance regarding HR policies and procedures.nnActs as Notary public for department.nnCollaborates with IFAS HR as the department HR Liaison.nnAttend monthly IFAS HR roundtable, view UFHR monthly forum, and register for HR trainings as needed.nnHRIS ManagementnnApprove transactions and input changes and relevant information into the university HRIS.nnActs as the Department Security Administrator, Identity Manager and handles the Network Managed By.nnUpdate Excel workbooks to track HR actions and completions.nnResponsible for updating the IFAS Directory, as needed.nnHiring and OnboardingnnCoordinates all hires including TEAMS, OPS, STAS, GAs, Post Docs, and Fellowships.nnGenerate Gator Start paperwork and conduct I-9 management.nnProcess foreign national hires and initiate POIs.nnOrders Gator 1 cards for new employees.nnProcesses New Hire ePAFs for staff, GA’s and students.nnPayroll and CompensationnnManages payroll updates and exceptions, enter payroll distribution, and manage payroll deadlines and approvals.nnCommunicate with the fiscal team about new hires for payroll distributions.nnProcess Additional Pays, Job Edits, update positions, create new positions, and handle Leave Epafs.nnProcess leave cash outs.nnProvides guidance for employees with time entry inquires.nnEmployee Relations and CompliancennResolve routine issues and employee concerns such as medical claims, documentation requests, and training enrollments.nnReview federal and state laws, and university regulations to ensure HR programs are effective and compliant.nnMonitor the effectiveness of HR policies and recommend revisions or modifications.nnTermination and Transition ManagementnnProcess terminations, resignations, retirements, and transfers.nnHandle HR 600 forms, Nepotism forms, and FMLA and Parental leave ePAFs.nnReporting and DocumentationnnRun and distribute various payroll reports, monitoring them for action items.nnRoute final payroll lists to supervisors and maintain department records.nnCreate Dropbox files for hires and use DocuSign for administrative purposes.nnAssists with social media and other duties as assigned.nnExpected Salary:nn$23.95; commensurate with education and experience.nnMinimum Requirements:nnBachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.nnPreferred Qualifications:Excellent communication skillsnnProfessional demeanornnKnowledge and understanding of employment laws and university regulationsnnProficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite and AdobennSelf-starter with great prioritization and organizational skillsnnSpecial Instructions to Applicants:nnIn order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter and resume.nnApplication must be submitted by 11:55 p.m. (ET) of the posting end date.nnThis position is eligible for veteran’s preference.
