Head of Research / Top Tier Hedge Fund | Dallas, TX


We are looking for a Head of Research to support the founder and CIO of a newly founded, promising young Hedge Fund with a long term strategy across a multitude of asset classes, with a focus in technology, financial services, and healthcare. Our investment thesis is anchored in allocating capital to high quality businesses and partners. The firm focuses on balancing long-term investments with tactical opportunities and aims to achieve consistent returns.


Position Summary:


The Head of Research will assist in portfolio construction and strategy, general market and company research, portfolio and investment analytics, external manager due diligence, and monitoring existing investments.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on existing public and private portfolio investments
  • Assist in due diligence, analysis and evaluation of new fund and co-investment opportunities
  • Conduct detailed research on public and private companies
  • Generate new investment ideas to be added to Public/Private Portfolio
  • Review Limited Partner agreements and other legal documents for fund investments
  • Monitor and stay informed about current market dynamics
  • Travel periodically to meet with managers and conduct diligence
  • Prepare reports and materials for internal investment meetings and participate in investment decisions


Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in finance, accounting, economics, or engineering
  • 7-10 years of experience in finance within an investment management organization (Family Offices, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Asset Management or Endowments/Foundations)
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel/Financial Modeling and has great attention to detail and quantitative skills
  • Deep fundamental expertise, keen sense of the market and passion for investing
  • Familiarity with multiple asset classes (Equities, Credit, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Natural Resources, Real Estate)
  • Ability to take initiative and lead new endeavors

Compensation $225k-275k base DOE + bonus and relocation assistance
