Job Title: Tooling Technician

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The main duties/activities are to complete maintenance, change over and occasional repairs to injection molding tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
- Performs injection mold preventative maintenance and insert changes in support of production with diligence and accuracy.
- Maintains accurate log of preventative maintenance and insert changes.
- Identifies tooling deficiencies during preventative maintenance and notify Tooling Lead.
- Participates in root-cause analysis of tooling breakage and/or damage to assess corrective actions.
- Ensures a clean, organized, and safe work environment always.
- Leads creation, organization, and maintenance of TPI’s, including work instructions, photo- documentation, historical logging, and revision control.
- Participates and leads tool room organization, including mold spare components, standard components (fasteners, pins, buy-outs).
- Identifies and elevates tools, equipment, and other infrastructure needs to the Tooling Lead.
- Provides support to production operations (Molding, Special Ops, Production) as needed or directed by supervisor.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school education or GED
- At least 2 years of related experience in tooling/manufacturing environment.
- Experience with injection mold maintenance and repairs.
- Solid understanding of the injection molding process.
- Strong attention to detail and willing to listen and discuss in an open, positive manner.
- Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to work with quickly changing priorities and short deadlines.
- Ability to successfully communicate with internal and external customers.
- Provide exceptional support to internal customers (Molding, Production, Special Ops).
