Duties typically include acting as a floor supervisor, area attendant, check-in staff, or other roles based on the needs of the event. This is a part-time position that is usually scheduled to work events, which occur mostly in the evening, nights, and weekends.nnEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesnnSupervise other event staff personnel, volunteers, and third-party contract staff.nnProvide necessary training and information to ensure that staff and volunteers remain well informed of the day’s events.nnCoordinate with supervisor to ensure the event’s specific requirements are met.nnServe as ticket taker and/or usher. Activities may include distributing programs, taking tickets, and escorting patrons to their appropriate seats.nnAddress patron issues and complaints.nnAssist with last minute pre-event needs, such as setting up, decorating, finding materials, etc.nnProvide special accommodation for patrons in wheelchairs and other physically challenged guests.nnAssist with relocating patrons due to floor closures, maintenance issues, double-seating issues, etc.nnHandle the check-in for special experiences such as donor lounges, VIP packages, and other event needs.nnSell tickets and/or passes to premium experiences.nnMay occasionally be in areas where fumes and airborne particles are present.nnWork extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.nnEducation and/or ExperiencennHigh school diploma or G.E.D.nnOne (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.nnExperience in the performing arts or events industry is preferred.nnSkills and AbilitiesnnDemonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications, and problem solving.nnFollow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.nnWork independently, exercising judgment and initiative.nnMaintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.nnRemain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.nnPhysical DemandsnnAbility to navigate a variety of floor surfaces and areas, including continuous standing and walking, including up and down stairs.nnAbility to work in a variety of environments, including but not limited to heights, elevators, darkened arena, around crowds, loud noise, and flashing lights.nnContinuous standing and walking, including up and down stairs.nnAbility to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.nnNOTE:nnThe essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
