Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Pediatrics / Primary Care OfficennGouverneur, NY ( TypennFull-timennDescriptionnnReports to:Clinical Development ManagernnRate of pay:$18.72 - $25.00 per hournnWork schedule:Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Weekdays. The day-to-day schedule may vary slightly based on the needs of the Health Center: no evenings, no weekends, and no major holidays.nnPOSITION SUMMARY:The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) shall carry out direct nursing care to patients of the health center under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse.nnPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:nnAdheres to statutory and regulatory requirements regarding certification and quality of health care and agency-approved policies and procedures.nnInterviews patients, obtains vital signs, prepares patients for exams, and assists providers with exams and/or treatments.nnUpdates and ensures the accuracy of patients' electronic medical records.nnTake patient telephone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent appointment criteria.nnOversees telephone prescriptions and refills to pharmacies.nnMaintains coordination of services with individuals and/or qualified persons.nnCoordinates with vendors to ensure delivery of prescribed equipment as needed.nnCooperates with providers and personnel to ensure quality programs, regular reviews, and accurate data collection.nnAssists with ordering and maintaining medical supplies and equipment.nnActs as a team member, assuring services are appropriate to meet the needs of each patient.nnAdvises supervisor of unmet needs of the health center to help expand services for patients.nnMaintains standard of infection control.nnOther responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.nnRequirementsnnCurrent NYS Licensed Practical Nursing Certification.nnCurrent BLS CertificationnnProficient oral and written communication skills.nnStrong organizational and planning skills.nnAbility to maintain good working relationships with others.nnExhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with issues.nnExcellent computer skills. Electronic medical record experience preferred.nnAbility to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., lift and support patients with and without help.nnAbility to walk and stand for extended periods.nnRegular exposure to infectious diseases, blood and airborne pathogens, needle sticks, hygiene issues, and other odors.nnAble to tolerate clinical smells.nnAbility to read digital readouts, recognize colors, and operate necessary medical equipment.nnAbility to operate mechanical devices used by patients.nnAbility to wear necessary hospital masks, gowns, gloves, and close-toed shoes.nnBENEFITSnnCerebral Palsy Association / Community Health Center of the North Country offers eligible employees excellent, affordable benefits options.
