The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a reliable and compassionate Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care and support to students. The Substitute LPN will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy school environment by addressing students' health needs, assisting with medical emergencies, and ensuring that health protocols are followed.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, allergies, and others.
- Provide first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Maintain accurate health records, including daily logs of student visits and treatments.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators about students' health concerns and needs.
- Assist in implementing and promoting health and wellness initiatives within the school.
- Follow district policies and protocols related to health and safety.
Qualifications: - Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Previous experience working with children in a healthcare or educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to handle medical emergencies and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
