Job SummarynnGeisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking board certified / board eligible Interventional Cardiologists with a focus and passion for complex coronary interventions including CHIP to join our flagship facility Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) in Danville, PA.nnJob DutiesnnThe ideal candidate would be an early career or a mid-career interventional cardiologist with experience and training in advanced coronary interventions. Although CHIP training is not a requirement, it would be strongly preferred. The current scope of interventional cardiology in Danville, PA includes STEMI care, percutaneous coronary interventions, atherectomy (rotational, laser), shockwave therapy, brachytherapy etc. Geisinger Medical Center has a robust structural heart disease program including TAVR, TEER, TMVR, Tricuspid interventions, ASD/PFO closures, etc. The facility also prides itself with ability to insert ECMO percutaneously in the cath lab.nnGeisinger Medical Center is the nation’s first hospital to receive The Joint Commission/American Heart Association (AHA) Comprehensive Heart Attack Center Certification and has been recognized as a Mission Lifeline­® Heart Attack Receiving Center. This recognition has helped GMC set the national standard for care coordination among hospital leadership, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, heart failure, advanced practice, nursing, life support, emergency medicine, emergency medical services (EMS), care management, pharmacy, and cardiac rehab teams.nnSystem-wide, Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute has 69 Cardiologists, 12 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 12 Vascular Surgeons as well as 82 Advanced Practitioners. Services are provided at GMC in Danville, PA; The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA; Geisinger – Community Medical Center (G-CMC) in Scranton, PA; Geisinger – Gray’s Woods in State College, PA; as well as select community locations encompassing an additional Cardiologists.nnGeisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute also offers comprehensive care for our pediatric heart patients. The pediatric and congenital heart team consists of eight Cardiologists and one Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH) at GMC.nnThe multidisciplinary team members of the Geisinger Heart and Vascular Institute participate in outcomes and population-based research through the Geisinger Center for Health Research; molecular, cellular and genomics research at the Siegfried and Janet Weis Center for Health Research; and trials of new drugs, devices and techniques through the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies.
