JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinates all phases of the company's' Human Resources/Personnel functions, including the hourly payroll process
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for transmitting the hourly payroll to Corporate Payroll for processing. Cross trains a backup to handle payroll in the event the HR Representative is out or involved in another project.
Ensures the daily staffing levels are met. Recruits through various methods for hourly personnel.
Provides orientation to all new hourly hires, ensures their paperwork is completed and reviews all policies and procedures with them.
Monitors employee's attendance records and recommends corrective discipline when necessary.
Administers the hourly employee vacation and personal holiday program
Researches and prepares verification of employee requests and initial unemployment compensation correspondence. Attends unemployment hearings.
Maintains and organizes all documentation related to HR, Safety, PSM, Food Safety Training, etc.
Oversees the performance review process to ensure fair and equitable practices are followed
Maintains required records for the Affirmative Action and EEO programs in conjunction with the Corporate EEO Coordinator and provides information to prepare the company's Annual Plan.
Reports alleged harassment issues to Corporate HR and assists in the investigation
Prepares and presents, as delegated, counseling, and disciplinary action to employees
Processes and submits timely, to all necessary parties, workers compensation, medical and lost time claims. Prepares Employer's Report of Occupational Injury or Illness as necessary and maintains up-to-date required logs. Works closely with the Company's affiliated physicians to limit the duration of lost time and medical costs resulting from work related injuries
Assists in conducting investigations of work-related injuries or illnesses to determine the cause and preventability
Assists in developing training for employees that adequately defines the job responsibilities
Becomes familiar with the Company's legal responsibilities under Federal and State law.
Serves as a member of the Safety Committee
Attends and participates in the Plant Manager's Staff Meetings
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and/or the Plant Manager
THE POSITION REQUIRES EXTREME CONFIDENTIALITY, DOCUMENTATION AND ORGANIZATION
Requirements:
3-5 years' experience in Human Resources or related field
3-5 years' experience in Payroll/Job Costing or related function
Experience using Microsoft Office software - Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Ability to communicate clearly, firmly, and tactfully (both verbal and written form)
