Job Title: License Practical Nurse (LPN)
Department: Urology
Reports To : Department Manager
Hours: Part time; 2 days a week to start and could possibly move to
3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday).

Job Summary:
Under the direction of a physician and utilizing the nursing process provides nursing care at a professional level. Demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Change foley catheters.
  • Change suprapubic catheters.
  • Change dressings for wounds, drains and catheters.
  • Remove drains.
  • Administer medications in the bladder.
  • Give subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Perform urodynamic tests (training provided)
  • Assist with setting up and assisting with cystoscopy exams and prostate biopsies.
  • Perform bladder scans.
  • Remove stitches.
  • Document procedures.
  • Place orders for tests.
  • Handle specimens.
  • Perform patient assessment.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Oregon.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth (work attendance, performance appraisals, attendance at educational offerings and flexibility of hours).
  • Ability to work in an area that is in a constant state of change, filled with high emotions and labile personalities, and rapid pace.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
