This role involves providing clinical care, addressing operational issues, and serving as a resource for staff while maintaining patient safety and professional relationships within the care team. Candidates must possess a current Georgia RN license and have at least one year of hospital nursing experience, with a preference for advanced certification and a bachelor's degree. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut. This population includes GI surgeries such as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc. Patients may have an ostomy, NGT and/or other feeding tube and/or drains. Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/step down med-surg floor admission. We are a level 2 trauma center. Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff. Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate of a nursing program. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
