Job Description:
The Plant Manager is responsible for developing and implementing production procedures to achieve organizational goals for quality, cost efficiency, and output. This role requires the ability to manage priorities effectively, balancing production schedules with equipment efficiency and material availability. The Plant Manager will review performance objectives to measure operational success and contribute to the organization’s continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee plant procedures and budgets, including providing recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
- Develop production schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas of the plant.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate subordinate managers, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with work plans.
- Establish and enforce adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with senior management and executives on matters impacting multiple functional areas, divisions, and customers.
- Manage departments and supervise subordinate managers, addressing costs, methods, and staffing to optimize operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in a manufacturing plant environment, with a proven track record as a Plant Manager.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent degree.
Experience Preferred:
- Proven ability to influence and gain consensus in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships.
- Strong knowledge of lighting products is highly preferred.
- Expertise in managing complex issues, requiring an in-depth understanding of organizational objectives and company culture.
- Experience implementing strategic policies, selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.
