Quad is seeking an Offset Platemaker to work at our Tampa, FL retail facility.   This is a 12-hour rotating schedule (7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m.) including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, working 3-4 shifts per week.    Entry-level wages start at $21.00 / hour and will pay more for experience! 

Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Plate production. Daily/monthly processor maintenance and chemical replenishments.
  • Digitally preview the plates for accuracy before imaging.
  • Operate and maintain VLF Trendsetters.
  • Punch, bend, and stage plates.
  • Color proof production. Inspect and digitally measure color proofs for quality.
  • Complete necessary job and production documentation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot irregular operating conditions of the imaging systems, plate processing units, and computer workstations.

Qualifications

  • Previous plate-making, prepress experience, and basic understanding of offset printing.
  • Must be able to see color and successfully pass a color test.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions in English.
  • Working knowledge of PC and MAC operating systems.
  • Communication skills via email, phone, and in-person.  
  • Able to work independently.
  • The ability to bend and lift 10-20 pounds continuously, up to 50 pounds at times, stand for long hours, use hands and wrists continuously use vision to identify defects, and perform repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • The ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule (7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m.) including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, working 3-4 shifts per week.
