ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)
•Operates yard tractor safely to remove loaded trailers from the docks and stage empty
trailers by priority in the appropriate door.
•Coordinates with the warehouse team to manage the trailer pool effectively in accordance
with the dock schedule.
•Greets and provides direction to incoming carriers; gives dock assignments.
•Conducts frequent yard checks; proactively monitors and communicates trailer pool status.
•Ensures utmost accuracy of BOL paperwork and trailer seals.
•Enforces yard safety guidelines with carriers; provides yard safety suggestions.
•Properly pre-trips and inspects each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards.
•Performs pre/post trip tractor checklists; keep equipment clean.
•Correctly positions trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor.
•Switches trailers as needed during the daily sort.
•Hooks up sets of trailers for line hauls leaving the facility.
•Cleary communicates all trailer moves and trailer numbers with operations management.
•Maintains yard cleanliness.
•Maintains forklift certification to assist with warehouse functions when necessary.
•Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and
procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program
•Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
•Performs all duties I conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
•Performs all other duties as assigned or needed by General Manager or the customer.

seasons.

and according to established guidelines. Properly count, document or scan the number of
units as needed by the function that is being performed.

receiving correct product. Ability to inspect condition of product received and product
going out to ensure quality.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
•Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
•Experience: One (1) to two (2)s year related experience in warehouse environment.
•Computer Skills: Basic scanner technology.
•Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver's License; Forklift Certification preferred.
