POSITION 25S27A TITLE: Substitute Custodians (24-25)
LOCATIONS: Countywide
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the cleanliness and attractiveness of the school building and grounds
2. Keeping rooms clean and in an orderly appearance
3. Keeping restrooms, hallways and entrances clean and manageable
4. Keeping entrance areas and sidewalks free of snow and ice
5. Run sweeper, empty wastebaskets, clean windows, and perform other custodial duties
6. Keep grass cut and trimmed on a regular basis
7. Keeping grounds free of paper and other refuse
8. Keeping outside of building free of marks
9. Make minor repairs, repair window shades, etc...
10. Display flag
11. Other duties of a custodial nature as directed by the principal or other county supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
2. Have a knowledge of and physical capability to perform assigned duties
3. Possess a personality for working in proximity with children
4. Compatible with a positive school environment
5. Able to perform tasks which may range from light cleaning to heavy lifting
6. Physically capable of performing reasonable climbing tasks.

BEFORE WORKING:
The Substitute Custodian must pass the WV State Test for Custodian
The Substitute Custodian must pass a successful WV background check
The Substitute Custodian must attend the Substitute Service Personnel Orientation
The applicant will also demonstrate the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position as contained in the job description, with or without reasonable accommodation.
TO WHOM RESPONSIBLE: Principal of the school
EMPLOYMENT TERM: As needed for the 2024-2025 school year, subject to contract renewal yearly.
SALARY: Salary to be determined by salary classification level, experience, and education according to schedule at Pay grade C.
