Role and Responsibilities:
As a Floor Technician , you'll be responsible for maintaining and cleaning floors and baseboards at our facility, ensuring a safe and hazard-free environment.
- Work with a team primarily composed of adults with disabilities or disabling conditions.
- Perform routine cleaning, waxing, and restoration of hard-surface floors and carpets. Tasks include dust mopping, mopping, stripping, refinishing, and spot cleaning.
- Use floor care machinery like buffers and scrubbers. Maintain and repair this equipment, including replacing parts and calibrating as needed.
- Secure work areas with safety barriers, report defective equipment, and transport broken items as needed.
- Check and maintain parts and equipment inventory.
- Introduce yourself to customers, provide safety instructions, and ensure the area is left clean and safe.
- Work with a diverse team, assist with supply deliveries, and complete assigned tasks and work orders.
- Lift and move heavy equipment, read and understand chemical labels, and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- Experience with floor care and maintenance (Preferred)
- Ability to operate and maintain floor care machinery (Preferred)
- Knowledge of safety procedures and chemical handling (Preferred)
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
Physical Demands:
- Required to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Able to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, grab and lift to fifty (50) lbs.
