Respiratory Therapist - Job Description
Shift Hours: Evening/Night 6:30pm - 7:00am with rotating weekends and holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides quality respiratory care to patients according to established procedures.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Provides respiratory care modalities to patients as ordered by physicians or approved protocols.
• Develops, implements and revises patient care plans.
• Ensures prepackaged medications are labeled with patient information and has the correct drug, dosage, and dosage form.
• Discusses orders for respiratory care with providers, nurses, supervisors, and care teams.
• Verifies and accurately documents pertinent patient care data including assessment, procedures and patient education in medal record.
• Assembles, prepares, cleans, and operates respiratory care equipment per established clinical and infection control practices.
• Documents patient safety issues in safety intelligence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an approved and accredited program or university.
Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience Required: None
Licenses Required: All of the following: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA Advanced Life Support, (ACLS) by AHA Licensed by the Texas Medical Board, (TMB) to practice Respiratory Care
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an approved and accredited program or university. Licenses Required: All of the following: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS) by AHA Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to practice Respiratory Care.
