If you’re dedicated to providing high-quality care and eager to grow in a supportive environment, we want to hear from you at the Otero County Prison in Chaparral, NM!nnBenefits Include:nn401(k) retirement accountnnEmployee assistance programnnEssential Responsibilities:nnUnder the direction of health services administrator, supervising nurse and professional service providers and in accordance with approved treatment protocol, assess condition of and prescribe treatment for detainees reporting to sick call.nnAssist with provider line; prepare examining room and equipment.nnOperate pill call, administer medication and document as required. This may include pushing and/or wheeling a pill cart on facility campus.nnControl medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment as required.nnPerform emergency procedures as needed and call the physician for treatment orders.nnMaintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records. Observe applicable HIPAA rules.nnClosely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.nnComply with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially those covering controlled substances.nnPerform work on an on-call basis, as required.nnPrepare and maintain narrative, statistical, summary and operational records, reports, and logs.nnConduct chart review, review status of detainees with serious health problems for completion of all necessary intervention and treatment.nnPerform rescue functions for accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administering basic emergency medical aid, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.nnEducation and Experience Requirements:nnMust be a graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical or Vocational Nursing program.nnCurrent, valid practical nursing license for the state of New Mexico or a compact state is required.nnMust have a current CPR certification.nnValid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or Texas with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.nnManagement & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
