Summary

Responsible for clinical and management duties for inpatient, outpatient and the sleep lab. Provides clinical care support to meet patient care needs of inpatients and outpatients. The position requires a high degree of written and verbal communication with the public, clients, families, medical staff, ancillary departments and administration. Diversified job requiring sustained mental effort and ability to deal with stresses related to interpersonal relationships. Must be able to deal with deadlines and prioritize appropriately. Serve as vacation relief and back up to Cardiac Rehab.
Job Duties

n- Maintains licensure as required by profession. Performs clinical duties and assisting during times of high patient volume or high patient acuity.
n- Monitors bulk oxygen fill volume monthly.
n- Inspects oxygen tank capacity and storage 4 times a year in the ER and acute care.
n- Contacts 80% of patients the week after their sleep study with results; 100% within two weeks.
n- Coordinates services of sleep lab with the sleep service provider, durable medical equipment companies and MLHS.
n- Demonstrates interdisciplinary collaboration to promote patient centered care. Attends Interdisciplinary/ discharge rounds at least two times per week.
n- Provide annual in-service or self-learning packet to staff on equipment that is infrequently used.
n- Write 3 articles for Insight annually.
n- Write 4 newsletters to providers annually.
n- Submit articles for the local newspaper twice yearly.
n- Press Ganey satisfaction scores will rank at least in the 50th percentile.
n- Monitors & reports at least two quality initiatives.
n- Manages customer complaints seeks to gain resolution within two weeks.
n- Assist with completing budgetary needs annually.
n- Provides justification and resolutions for budget variances of 10%.
n- Reviews departmental charge master annually.
n- Rounds on nursing staff monthly.
n- Ensures annual review of all policies for the department.
n- Completes assigned HealthStream education.

Required Education and Experience
n
n- Licensure as Respiratory Technologist (RT) in Minnesota, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
n- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
n- Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred but not required
n- Minimum of five years' experience in healthcare setting
