Responsibilities Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS , is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful central Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Qualifications Education/Training:
- Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine.
- Completed Residency in Psychiatry.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
Experience:
- At least one year inpatient psychiatric experience working with patients with needs similar to the patients served by the facility.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Florida.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible as Practicing Psychiatrist
- Current Florida Driver's License
- Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
- Knowledge of milieu management.
- Advanced skills in medication management.
- Knowledge of acute adult, adolescent, and child psychological disorders
- Advanced knowledge of principles of abnormal psychology
- Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.
- Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
- Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practices
