Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking a Subcontract Closeout and Compliance Specialist as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). This staff member will be assigned to NREL's Acquisition Services Group support manager and generally will be expected to work with the Subcontract Administrators and Buyers within Acquisitions Services to gather appropriate documentation and information required to close expired Fixed Price and Labor Hour Type subcontracts. This is a junior resource which will be responsible for documenting closeout action, performing closeout activities within Oracle EBS, flagging subcontracts for archiving/destruction, and other related duties as assigned. This resource will work closely with NREL's Closeout Program Administrator, may support closeout audit requests, and update closeout records/spreadsheets as appropriate. This is high volume low complexity work with the expectation that this resource close 25-50 subcontracts per week once fully trained.

The Compliance Specialist is for Subcontract compliance and will be assigned to NREL’s Acquisition Support Group PPC manager and generally will be expected to work with the Subcontract Administrators and Buyers within Acquisitions Services to gather information on compliance requirements, answers questions regarding compliance questions, help support the preparation for the PERT, help support policy/procedure rewrites and work the customer help desk as needed.

Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory located in Golden, CO. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.

Closeout the backlog of subcontracts for the acquisition services group.

Document the closeout files as needed for the closeout to be completed.

Help answer internal questions on policy/procedures.

Help preparation for PERT.

Help with the PPC mailbox and customer help desk.

Work with the compliance manager to accomplishing tasks needed for this group.

If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse Program (WSAP) testing designated position. The selected candidate will be required to work remote 40 hours per week between the hours of 8 AM – 5 PM Mountain Time, Monday-Friday unless otherwise directed by NREL. Actual time may vary depending on workload requirements. Job duration is projected to be a 12-month period of performance with potential for a 12-month extension.

Salary Range: $83,200 - $101,920 annually – The salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, work experience, and their ability to meet the known requirements of the position as determined at the time of hire. Job location will also be a factor in determining the salary offered.
