The Bus Driver will operate the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Alabama (BGCSA) bus and vans to safely transport members to and from various locations/programs of the BGCSA. The driver will assist with the loading and unloading of the bus passengers. Will provide customer service to members during general transportation and pick up and drop off of members. While at the Club, All staff must abide by and support the BGCSA mission, to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.nnHours: Up to 20 hours/week - Monday through Friday typically between the hours of1:30 pm to 4:30 pm during the school year, andbetween the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm during June and July. Environmental Conditions: The employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Reports any maintenance malfunctions to the supervisornResponsible for timely and accurate reports, including daily mileage, attendance, safety checks, defect reports and incident reports as required.nAdheres to established routes and times, adjusting as necessary when members are added or removed from pickup/delivery schedule.nMake independent judgments, within stated objectives and guidelines, regarding unusual traffic/road conditions, and the proper course of action to take.nDeal effectively with member needs, supervising members entering, leaving, and while being transported on assigned routes and field trips.nCommunicates member issues with BGCSA Branch Director.nEffectively deals with parents, guardians, school personnel and community members in a positive manner.nnADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:nnKeeps Branch Director promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary.nAbility to attend staff meetings, classes or training as required and requested.nPresents a uniformly positive image of BGCSA programs and services during all informal community contacts as well as during regular workday activities.nPerforms other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by Operations team.nnQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:nnCurrent CDL license.nMinimum of a high school education with the experience, knowledge, and skills to safely operate a bus and 15-passenger van.nMust be twenty-five (25) years of age or older and insurable by BGCSA insurance carrier.nCurrent First Aid and CPR certificate or the ability to obtain certification and keep current.nAbility to work with people with disabilities.nAbility and willingness to work a variable schedule, as required.nAdherence to established dress standards and willingness to wear issued t-s irts.nCommitment to the BGCSA and its mission and the ability to work as a team member and represent the BGCSA in a professional manner.
