Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse, Emergency to join our team at Eagle Ridge Hospital. As an Emergency Nurse, you will be part of a dedicated and experienced team of health care providers who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.
About the Role:
As an Emergency Nurse with Fraser Health, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in the emergency department. You will work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery. Your skills and expertise will be utilized to teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance, empowering them to achieve their health care goals.
Responsibilities:
* Assess patients and collect information from various sources using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment skills.
* Make nursing diagnoses and determine whether conditions can be improved or resolved through appropriate nursing interventions.
* Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care.
* Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to develop care plans, encouraging family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of care plans.
* Establish therapeutic relationships by demonstrating empathy, trust, and respect, advocating for patients' rights to privacy, dignity, and access to information, and ensuring patients' choice and autonomy in decision-making and care planning.
Requirements:
* Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
* Completion of applicable postgraduate course work in emergency or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency.
