Job OverviewnnThe Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.nnBenefits of a Hubbell Internship:nnOpportunity to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiencesnnComprehensive, value-added project(s) to develop technical skills specific to your majornnPrograms and projects to help expand presentation skillsnnExposure to various parts of the business, encouraging professional development and relationship building.nnPOSITION OVERVIEW:nnThe Operations Intern position offers a variety of opportunities including supporting the organization in the development and implementation of lean initiatives, 5S principles, and continuous improvement.nnOperations Interns will typically support one or more experienced Operations teams in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as the day-to-day operations of the Operations department. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which will help them build a strong network within the Hubbell community.nnThe Pay Range for the position is $22.50 - $29.00.nnA Day In The LifennEvery day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:nnApplying skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiences.nWorking on comprehensive, value-added projects.nWorking in teams and with colleagues in a professional environment.nDeveloping technical skills specific to your major.nProviding opportunities for professional development by building relationships and learning about other parts of the business.nProviding a presentation to the local management team at the end of the program.nGaining knowledge of the industry as it pertains to the Hubbell business location.nGaining experience in planning and organizational skills.nWorking on challenging robust projects that will provide practical experience.nAssisting with process improvement.nManaging multiple projects with overlapping tasks and working independently with minimal supervision.nProviding support and assistance to co-workers as appropriate.nnDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:nnRoles and Responsibilities will vary by Hubbell business location, but may include the following:nnReview current marketing program activities to make recommendations for changes/improvement opportunitiesnnPerform other duties as assignednnDetailed roles and responsibilities will be outlined dependent on business Group, location and the project outlinednnExpectations: The intern will be expected to work full-time at 40 hours/week and will be compensated on an hourly basis.nnWhat will help you thrive in this role?nnSKILLS & EXPERIENCE:nnStudent must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a bachelor’s or master's degree in operations (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Engineering Management, or related degree)nnMinimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scalennStrong verbal and written communication skillsnnDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentnnHubbell IncorporatednnHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
