The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking an Intern to join our team!nnThe Active Older Adult Engagement Lead Intern will support the design of and lead the implementation of the Community Groups in the Center serve; an in-person member engagement program. If selected, you will provide leadership and support for the Active Older Adult member experience by creating opportunities for meaningful relationship building that supports growth and wellness in spirit, mind, and body. In this position, the intern will provide innovative leadership and coordination of community engagement and facilitate community groups in-person through small group activities, monthly special events, engagement through classes and invitations to our Silver and Fit and Optum members through phone calls that come into our Y Centers.nnKey Responsibilities:nnWork with staff to design and implement the growth of community groups within their center with a focus on members forming meaningful relationships that supports a strategic membership engagement to increase retention and fulfillment of the Y mission.nUtilize the systems and processes to connect members to one another to foster community through in-person in community groupsnAssist in marketing efforts and strategies.nTrack and utilize data to drive learning and program developmentnnAdministration:nnSupport staff and volunteer connectors and facilitators.nCollaborate with all departments within a center to create and market groupsnnRespond to all member and community inquiries and questions within a timely manner of 24-48 hours.nnCollaborate:nnIgnite the vision for integrating community groups within existing programming / departments.nCollaborate with the others to ensure consistent delivery of the special events, programs and classes to have our Active Older Adult members invited and engaged at the Y.nnCollaborate with community-based organizations to bring in opportunities for connection for our members.nnSupervision:nnRecruit, on-board, and support volunteer and staff Community Connectors and Facilitators.nnCoordinate and support the training of all staff and volunteers.nnQualifications:nn2 years of post-high school education and/or equivalent knowledge and experience in communication, business, or related field that includes volunteer development, program development, or innovation.nPositive attitude, innovative spirit, and previous experience with diverse populationsnDemonstrated skills in customer service, community building, organizational skills, communication, computer knowledge, and an openness and ability to learn new things.nYou are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.nAble and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.nn* *nnWage: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualificationsnn*Duration: * September 16, 2024 to May 23, 2025.nnLocation: Mel Korum Family YMCA, Puyallup, WAnn* *nn*Questions: * Please connect with Amanda Chance, Mission Program Coordinator at , or Janele Nelson, Association Mission Director at * *nnThe YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is committed to diversity and inclusion throughout our organization and is an Equal Opportunity Employe
