CherryRoad Technologies is seeking to hire a Director, Human Resources. Reports to: VP, Finance Directs the company’s human resources staff in developing and delivering programs that support the organization’s overall strategic direction. Responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs in the areas of employee relations, employment, compensation, benefits and safety. Remains abreast of laws, regulations, and plan design trends, ensuring that company’s policies and programs conform to laws and are competitive. Recommends, develops, implements and administers new approved or modified plans and employee benefit policies. Develops cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost of company and employee. Responsibilities Include: Directs the company's employee relations, benefits, compensation and staffing programs, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations. Directs the establishment and maintenance of the company's HRIS and Benefits Systems. Ensures that the company is competitive and equitable and that the programs assist managers to attain corporate objectives. Protects interests of employees in accordance with company's policies and applicable labor, pay and benefits laws and regulations. Formulates and recommends personnel policies and objectives of the company. Directs the interpretation and application of those policies throughout the company. Designs and implements compensation strategies and programs in accordance with the objectives of the company. Directs the interpretation and application of those policies throughout the company. Conducts continuing reviews of all personnel policies, programs and practices to keep company abreast of current practices and informed of new developments, pending and new laws and regulations. Evaluates and compares existing company benefits with those of other IT industry employers. This will be accomplished by analyzing other plans, developing, and/or participating in area and industry surveys and using other information that may become available. This data will be used to make specific recommendation to management where appropriate. Develops specifications for new plans or modifies existing plans that will maintain the Company's competitive position in the labor market. Prepares and executes, with legal consultation, benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies. Instructs insurance carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefit program. Ensures prompt and accurate compliance. Assures company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Supervises preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies. Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to management. Plans, develops, implements and enforces the Company’s HIPAA privacy policy and procedures. Serves as a contact person responsible for receiving complaints related to privacy of protected health information. Responsible for company's health and safety programs, including applicable OSHA and ADA regulations. Works with outside counsel on legal employee matters. Oversees the company’s immigration policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance. Creates and distributes regular employee communication on a weekly and monthly basis. Responsible for all legally required employee trainings – HIPAA, Harassment and well as working with other departments on employee trainings. Directs the preparation and maintenance of regular and special reports desired by management to assist in the attainment of corporate objectives. Responsible for creating a general employee understanding of existing benefit programs and any changes or updates to those programs through the use of email campaigns, training seminars and guest speakers. Supervises Employee Services staff performing human resources and benefit activities. Required Skills: 15 or more years in HR functions, with seven or more years in HR and/or Benefits management. 15 years’ experience administering employee benefit plans programs including Medical, Dental, Life, LTD and 401(k). 8 years creation and implementation of HR/personnel practices and principles, and all applicable labor, pay, benefits, health and safety laws and regulations, including the annual review and updates to employee handbooks. 8 years of experience negotiating and administering a wide variety of benefit programs including Medical, Dental, Life, LTD and 401(k). Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations plan designs and third-party record keeping/administrations highly desirable Strong knowledge and understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations. Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required. 2 years of experience with Mergers & Acquisitions including assimilation programs for employees. 7 years of HR Management experience. Comfortable interacting with all levels of management. Must have computer skills and the ability to learn HRIS system. Proficient in Word, Excel, working knowledge of MS Outlook and PowerPoint highly desirable. Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills. Prior experience with collective bargaining groups would be a plus.
