GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen outlets by bending, reaching, lifting, sweeping, and mopping floors and other duties assigned by the Assistant Executive Steward or the Executive Steward. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING) Wash all types of dishes and glasses; lift racks, plate stacks, bus pans, and silverware weighing a maximum of 40 pounds to shoulder height. Clean floors, mats, and drains for sanitary reasons using mops, brooms, scrapers, scrubbers, and chemicals. Clean stainless steel or wipe down with soap and water. Remove dirty dishes from the cook's line and take to the dish room for cleaning and restock the cook's line with clean dishes. Maintain the cleanliness of employee's bathrooms by sweeping, mopping, scouring, and overall cleaning by bending, kneeling, and crouching. Clean and polish the silverware and hollowware daily or as needed for functions by lifting silverware, hollowware, and bus pans weighing a maximum of 40 pounds above the waist. Qualifications PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, skills, and abilities) Ability to operate dish machines, glass machines, floor scrubbers, and burnishing machines. Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic guest requests. Ability to understand written English to read any caution, safety notices, and supervisor's verbal/written instructions. Ability to understand verbal English in case of emergency situations. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes with the Hotel. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to communicate with management and other employees. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to complete production and job requirements. Ability to perform duties within cold/normal/hot temperatures. Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use mops, brooms, scrapers, and sort silverware. Typical physical / mental demands: ABILITY TO GRASP, BEND, LIFT AND/OR CARRY 40 LBS. MAX, OR OTHERWISE, MOVE OR PUSH GOODS ON A HAND CART/TRUCK WEIGHING A MAXIMUM OF 300 LBS. (PUSHING 300 LBS./PULLING 100 LBS.) TO SHOULDER HEIGHT 50 PERCENT OF SHIFT. Typical Working Condition: ABILITY TO WALK 100 PERCENT OF SHIFT UP TO A MAXIMUM OF THREE MILES. May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to: second-hand smoke, excessive noise, and constant interaction with the general public. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
