Job Description: Job Title: Night Stocker Department: Grocery FLSA: Non-Exempt General Function: Unloads product, opens containers, stocks shelves, and rotates product where necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner. Makes an effort to learn customer names and address them by name whenever possible. Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items. Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to callers. Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction. Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, and rotates product. Monitors for miss-picked items and reviews product outs. Organizes stock for efficiency and cleans/restocks damaged items. Tags shelves with overstock and reports new items for system input. Maintains strict adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines. Reports to work on time and works the scheduled number of hours. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in other areas of the store as needed. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and request supplies. Education and Experience: High school or equivalent experience. Six months or less of similar or related work experience. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform very heavy work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally. Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet. Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting. Working Conditions: This position is exposed to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, and chemicals/solvents daily.
