We seek a machinist to program and operate CNC and other milling machinery to produce parts used for the Geotechnical, Foundation Support and Drilling industries. The hours for this role are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday with overtime available. We offer competitive pay and benefits (medical, vision, dental) as well as Short Term disability, 401k, and eligibility for year-end bonus What you will do for us: Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce quality precision parts. Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts. Select the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines. Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjust machine controls to resolve production errors. Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise. Produce parts to tolerances as outlined on production prints. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators. Program CNC lathes and milling machinery including set up and operate CNC machinery to produce parts with specified tolerances in a timely manner. Set up and operate manual machinery to produce parts with specified tolerances in a timely manner. Recognize job hazards and use appropriate PPE and safety procedures. Operate fork truck and other lifting equipment. Maintain and monitor production equipment, perform routine maintenance, and replace worn components and tooling as required. Conduct quality control analysis on various in-house and purchased parts. Maintain, organize, and clean work area. Communicate with supervision or other manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information and production schedules. You may also Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise. Other duties, as assigned to meet business and customer needs. Our ideal candidate will have: High school diploma or GED required. Experience with manual and/or CNC lathes and milling equipment. Experience and work proficiency with CAD/CAM drawings. Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation. Proficient in advanced mathematics including trigonometry, geometry preferred. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong organizational and time management skills. About the work environment: This position primarily works in a heavy manufacturing environment where the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including exposure to heat and cold both inside and outside of the building, and around loud noises. Remain on feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time. Carry objects up to 50 lbs. Employee to wear personal protective equipment such as steel toe footwear, eye and ear protection.
