The successful Equipment Operator candidate will safely perform the basic tasks required to load, unload, and move breakbulk/bulk products including aggregates, break bulk (lumber, plywood, paper, etc.) and containers at our Marine Terminal located in Fernandina Beach, Florida. These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with us We provide Uniforms & PPE (laundering included) (7) Paid Holidays Excellent benefits including medical, dental, and 401(k) with match Here is what you will be doing Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectives Operate/maintain heavy equipment including front end loaders, reach stacker, forklift jockey truck, mobile harbor crane and gantry crane. Complete and maintain required daily paperwork Housekeeping duties, sweeping, washing down of work areas, and keeping restrooms, break rooms, and work rooms clean and tidy Assist Maintenance personnel, as needed and directed Occasionally work in areas outside of your normal duties, when instructed by Supervision Requirements of a successful Equipment Operator Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card Must have a Valid Driver’s License Be able to read, write and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights Possess Environmental & Safety awareness Must be able to work a rotating (days/nights)12-hour shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary For safety reasons, must be able to read, write and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English Stevedoring experience a plus 1 year marine, plant, or industrial equipment experience Equipment certifications are a plus Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus Here are some of the physical requirements for this role Equipment Operators are routinely required to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to Stand/Walk for long periods of time IND1 Additional Information: A complete job description is available upon request Savage is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplace California Residents Job Application Privacy Notice https://savageco.com/careers/california-residents-job-applicant-privacy-notice/ J-18808-Ljbffr
