We are excited to offer the opportunity to join the opening team of Calusso, the premier fine dining destination at Pier Sixty-Six, featuring cuisine inspired by the Rivieras of France and Italy. In this pivotal role, you will be an essential part of a team dedicated to delivering distinctively different and elevated culinary experiences to our guests.
Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, your role will be to provide outstanding service within our Signature restaurant. This position is ideal for someone with a deep passion for refined culinary techniques and a commitment to service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute dishes according to Calusso’s fine dining standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow all recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Actively communicate during busy periods to facilitate assistance as needed.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Capable of standing, sitting, or walking for an extended period; performing physical activities such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fine dining or high-end culinary environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing exceptional dishes.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to Calusso’s standards and techniques.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety protocols.
- Culinary degree or relevant certifications are a plus but not required.
