Our client, a national distributor with a DC located in Fridley, Minnesota, has a great opportunity open for a Transportation Supervisor in a facility where you will be supported for personal continuous improvement and growth.

Sunday-Wednesday, 8p-6:30a

Salary $75,000- 80,000, commensurate with experience.

Sign-on Bonus and Annual bonus opportunity

The Transportation Supervisor position will perform the following duties:

Responsible for supervision and training of drivers and transportation staff at the operating facility; ensuring deliveries are made in safe, efficient and timely manner.

  • The Transportation Supervisor ensures annual performance goals are met, including on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost, product loss and damage, and ensuring a safe working environment by executing company processes successfully
  • This role assists in developing the daily operating plan to include equipment maintenance and driver work schedules to meet or exceed our customers’ delivery needs as well as promptly solving problems to the maximum satisfaction of our customers
  • The Transportation Supervisor will provide development to supervisory and driver staff, and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safety
  • Partner with human resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the year in order to foster a work environment with maximized employee involvement
  • Assists with monitoring DOT (Department of Transportation) logs, ensures drivers are in compliance with all DOT and Company regulations/polices. Ensures all safety protocols are being followed
  • Oversees daily driver dispatch, resolving any issues prior to the trucks leaving the yard
  • Must be able to build good, professional relationships with drivers built on mutual respect and trust
  • Ensures reporting of maintenance of all trucks, tractors and trailers through detailed review of post-trip inspections

Experience and Qualifications:

  • BA preferred; HS/GED, Associates degree
  • 3-5 years transportation management experience in a warehouse/distribution center, and supervising a team of drivers
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills
  • CDL license a plus
  • Food industry experience a plus
