As a Construction Manager at Greening Group, you will play a crucial role in directing, planning, and managing the overall construction project(s) from inception to completion. Additionally, make certain that the client's requirements are fulfilled and that projects are completed within the designated schedule and budget, adhering to Company safety and procedural policies, industry standards, and best practices. The duties of a Construction Manager will vary by client and project size with varying degrees of responsibility and authority.
The Project is based in Wheatfield, Indiana.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and developing a team of Superintendents who are managing Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical work on the utility-scale solar project site. The role also entails carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Monitor and direct the progress of the construction site(s)
- Ability to recognize the need for and negotiate Change Orders facilitated by PM.
- Determine subcontractor / labor requirements for project
- Understand the subcontractor's scope of work and ensure they are aligning with the contract terms and schedule
- Ensure production schedules are maintained to measure time, production and meet requirements of project
- Monitor compliance with the set regulations
- Ability to study project cost indexes and change/adapt to benefit the project.
- Study, communicate, and improve on productivity analysis provided by Project Manager
- Keep records in a systematic, well-organized fashion
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form to large employee groups, owners, or engineers
- Maintain and enforce discipline throughout the jobsite
- Interview and train direct reports, plan, assign and direct work, appraise performance, address complaints and resolve problems
- Work with the Client’s site management team to ensure their expectations are being met and that they are satisfied with a safely constructed and quality-installed product
- Work with the PM to ensure the Client’s expectations are realistically managed and aligned with the agreement and scope of work
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
- Managed contractors and subcontractors for over five years
- two years of previous experience in a managing role
- Three years of experience in the solar industry at any appropriate level
