Job Summary:
The Principal Investigator (PI) is responsible for the overall conduct of clinical trials and ensuring that research studies are performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and study protocols. The PI will oversee the clinical research team, ensure the protection of study participants, and contribute to the advancement of psychiatric research, particularly in the areas of bipolar disorder and general psychiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific and clinical leadership in the design and conduct of clinical trials, particularly those focused on bipolar disorder and general psychiatric conditions.
- Ensure that studies are conducted in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), applicable regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
- Oversee the recruitment, enrollment, and follow-up of study participants, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the study.
- Supervise and collaborate with the clinical research team, including sub-investigators, research coordinators, and psych raters, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of clinical data.
- Review and approve study protocols, informed consent documents, case report forms, and other study-related documents.
- Monitor study progress, address any issues or deviations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Liaise with sponsors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth conduct of clinical trials.
- Analyze and interpret study data, prepare study reports, and contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in psychiatric research and therapeutic developments.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in accordance with regulatory and institutional requirements.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Psychiatry, Psychology, Neuroscience).
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
