About the Role:
We seek a mid-to senior-level architectural team member to serve as an Area Director - Dallas overseeing various commercial, government, and federal projects! Additionally, the Area Director will be responsible for all business development for the area. The Area Director will manage all aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion. This includes coordinating project efforts, estimating the scope of work, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution. The successful candidate will serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. The Area Director may also lead project teams and manage the operations of the Dallas office.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Maintain a backlog equal to one year of the Dallas office’s budgeted net revenue.
- Collaborate with Studio Directors/Principals to increase consultative selling efforts.
- Represent the Dallas office in external organizations (e.g., Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development groups).
- Work with team leaders to perform projects at a net profit margin
- Maintain an average collection period for accounts receivable.
- Achieve a 12-month rolling average of utilization for professional staff.
- Participate in monthly Executive Committee meetings to address company-wide issues and set strategic priorities.
- Monitor project teams to ensure effective project management, design quality, and control.
- Oversee the quarterly review process
- Advocate for professional development opportunities for design staff.
- Assist with recruiting office staff for the area.
- Supervise staff within the Dallas region.
- Other duties as assigned or required
Skills and Qualifications:
- An architectural license is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years experience
- Proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, Microsoft Office, and other software used by the firm
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and people
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to complete projects on time with precision and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Initiative and professional drive
- Highly ethical
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
Education:
- Professional design degree
