Deep Learning Researcher
Location : Amsterdam, The Netherlands (full relocation provided)
Salary : €250,000-€300,000 base + bonus + benefits
Harnham is partnering with one of the world’s leading hedge funds to hire a skilled Deep Learning/Quantitative Researcher. The role focuses on developing machine learning, deep learning, and advanced statistical models for quantitative investment strategies. This position is part of the broader Research team, working on cutting-edge portfolio projects across the organization.
THE ROLE
As a Deep Learning Researcher, you will:
- Design and implement machine learning, deep learning, and statistical models to optimize investment strategies in high-frequency trading.
- Work with vast and diverse datasets, including mapping, geographic, location, advertising, and search data, among others.
- Lead the development of new platforms for equity and macro products on a global scale.
- Conduct simulations to identify high-potential trading opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to a rapidly growing research team.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have:
Education :
- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Financial Engineering, or a similar discipline (preferred).
Experience :
- post-PhD commercial experience building machine learning and deep learning models for quantitative or financial applications.
Technical Skills :
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and predictive modeling.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning, Bayesian statistics, and neural networks.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning (preferred).
Soft Skills :
- Proven ability to lead research initiatives.
- Strong track record of collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
Research Acumen :
- A history of first-author publications is highly desirable.
